How To Work From Home… Efficiently

Whether you are a student trying to study or someone with a full time job working from home may be one of the most difficult things because all you want to do is lie in bed and chill. But because you have things to do here are my tips for getting shot done at home.

First thing’s first you need to find a space. Create a small office for yourself even if it is just a desk with a chair. When you are in this space get rid of all distractions, put your phone on silent and all the other things because it’s work time. If you don’t live alone and there is a need be tell whoever you live with that when you are in that space there is a fictional do not disturb sign on the door or better year get an actual DND sign’. What this does is it allows you to have a focused space that tells your mind that ‘it’s work time’.

There is a reason why people have office hour’s to let others know that they are working at that time and also to keep themselves in a frame of mind for working during those hours so go ahead and set a time for your work. The best part about being working from home is that you do get to choose your own hours and if you are a night owl like myself you are afforded the opportunity to work at night and leave the fun stuff for the day time.

Get a plan, you need to have a solid P.O.A for each day. So either in the morning when you start working or the night before make a list of all the things you want to get done so that you know what your goals are so that you know when you’re done. If you finish early you can either move on to the things you have to do for tomorrow or take the rest of the day off.

No matter what you need to resist the black hole that is your bed so we’re making it a rule that you should not work in your bed. I know you think that you are not going to get tired and that you’ll be perfectly fine, but the fact of the matter is you do not work most efficiently when you are in your bed and things will take longer

Here’s to getting things done efficiently so that we have more time for ourselves and the things we love.

Beauty and Splendour,
